Pier B Resort nears completion on Duluth’s waterfront providing great harbor views and a private boat ramp.
The $29.1 million Pier B Resort and Silos restaurant next to Bayfront Park on the far western edge of Canal Park in Duluth. The 140 room hotel, event space and waterfront playground sits on 7.4 acres and 2,1000 fee of shoreline looking out at the Lake Superior Harbor and Aerial Lift Bridge.
“Any building on the waterfront is very industrial in nature, and so we came to the conclusion that we wanted to make everything big and over scale – to give people the sense of history. In essence, this is a reincarnation of what used to be there, so when you start looking at the design of the building, that is exactly what we did. The brick returns to what was rusty concrete, red warehouse brick and black like taconite pellets. We had a lot of fun with it.” stated John Gerzina, DSGW Architect for the project….
