Duluth, Minn – Members Cooperative Credit Union has broken ground for its new Miller Hill location at 609 West Central Entrance, site of the former Midas Muffler.
The branch will replace the credit union’s existing location in the Firestone building in the parking lot of the Miller Hill Mall. The new, larger branch will offer access from Central Entrance and provide drive-through service. It will also integrate pod-format teller service. It will transform from a low-profile location on the back-side of a shared building to a striking free-standing structure with modern design features and amenities.
“We’re very excited to get the project underway,” said MCCU President/CEO Tammy Heikkinen. “We can’t wait to see the new branch materialize, and we look forward to providing much better access and service to our members, in this new home.”
The groundbreaking was attended by MCCU board and staff members, representatives of the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, project partners Boldt Companies (project general contractor) and DSGW Architects (project architect).
