Imagine stepping into a symbolic earth lodge as you arrive at the White Shield Old Scouts Veterans Memorial. This 12-sided structure, sprawling over 10,533 square feet, welcomes visitors with an outstretched entryway. Inside, an open ceremonial space unfolds beneath a vast insulated skylight system, all resting on custom terrazzo flooring. This design serves as a place for White Shield Tribal members to remember, reflect, and celebrate.

At the heart of the space lies an eight-sided gathering area that can seat up to 186 people. Climate-controlled display cases line the walls, showcasing cultural and military artifacts. Beyond the displays, you’ll find offices dedicated to tribal members and organizations managing the center’s programs. There’s also a secure armory for ceremonial weapons and a versatile, insulated flex room that can even be used as a telehealth space, potentially in collaboration with the VA.

Wood reigns supreme throughout the facility, both structurally and aesthetically. Wood acoustic panels grace the walls, ensuring a serene atmosphere during ceremonies. Large picture walls flank the north and south sides of the gathering space, proudly displaying images of tribal members who have served and sacrificed in the US Armed Forces.

The White Shield Old Scouts Veteran’s Memorial provides members and veterans of the Tribal Community with a space for gathering and ceremony. This is a space to remember and celebrate those that gave so much for their People and Country and to remind future generations of those that served before them.
