There were three distinct initiatives met through the design of the St. Louis County Government Services Center; To be accessible and welcoming to the community, to be safe for staff and the public, and to be a healthy, resilient building. The St. Louis County Government Services Center is a simple building that has transformed the Community in a grand way. This Project not only provides a safe and accessible one-stop shop for government services, but it also transforms an entire city neighborhood. The building elements borrow from the historic community, but also propel it forward through the use of sustainable design. The reduction in operating costs through energy efficiency provides a long term path for fiscal responsibility and stewardship of the County. And most importantly, celebrates the importance of good civic design to reinvigorate the future of the Community.
