The Bay Mills Hotel and Resort is undergoing a major expansion, solidifying its position as a premier travel destination in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula! The resort is adding two expansive three-story wings for guest rooms. The central section reaches an impressive four stories, with the top floor partially opening up to a rooftop deck. This addition almost doubles the resort’s capacity with 135 new rooms, 12 of which are deluxe and include a fireplace and jacuzzi. The expansion seamlessly matches the existing facility and the guest rooms were strategically designed in a stepped style allowing for 3/4 to have spectacular views with balconies overlooking Lake Superior.
Additionally, the expansion will feature a bar that offers guests refreshments and even breakfast options, an arcade, gift shop, spa, conference room lounge area, fitness room, and aquatic center. The aquatic center features a zero-entry pool, splash pad, soothing sauna, and rejuvenating hot tub, this haven is topped off by a skylight bathing the entire space in natural light. The fish-scale patterned tiles throughout the aquatic center pay homage to the Bay Mills Indian Community’s heritage – Gnoozhekaaning: The Place of the Pike.
Outside guests can stroll along the boardwalk surrounded by landscape that preserves the native plant species. Ample parking for guests and buses has been added, along with a new 30×60 maintenance building across the street to discreetly house service vehicles and equipment. The building’s design complements the overall resort aesthetic.
