COOK, MN – Cook Hospital broke ground on an $8.1 million care center addition and renovation that will improve quality of living for residents.
The expansion creates 28 private resident rooms. The existing care center will be renovated in to offices, adult day services, a beauty shop, a residential laundry room, a restorative gym and lobby. The new design with two clustered households surround residential style kitchens and spaces for social interaction that will increase efficiency and functionality.
“We’re really excited about this project,” said Cook Hospital administrator Teresa Debevec at the groundbreaking event. “It’s been a long time in the making.”
IRRRB supported the project with a commercial redevelopment grant for the demolition of three buildings, making 17,275 additional square-feet of space available for care center renovations.
The project will be completed in two phases of construction. Phase I, the addition will be completed May of 2017. Phase II will be complete in August of 2017.
