The historic Spina Building, located in downtown Duluth, is a handsome 1911 brick and terra-cotta structure that features abundant first-floor windows and tall arched windows on the second floor. After having many tenants ranging from a dance academy, retail stores and a bar, DSGW now calls the Spina Building home.
Working closely with the City of Duluth, DSGW helped reclaim one of the most significant intersections in the business district. The second floor’s original and stunning ballroom space is now a 12,000 sf, two-level corporate office space for DSGW’s employees. Considering the tenants and office functions, DSGW designed the interiors with daylight and an open feel in mind. Because the building would house hands-on architectural teams, collaborative workspaces were necessary.
