Warroad, Minnesota
2014
82,800 sf
Scope:
Master Planning Architecture Interior Design FF&E

The goal of the Seven Clans Warroad Casino, located in Northern Minnesota, was to become more than just a gaming destination. The property relocated from downtown Warroad to a prominent peninsula of land formed by the Warroad River and Lake of the Woods.

The 160,000 sf building houses a casino, 100-room hotel, banquet center, restaurant overlooking the lake, a snack bar near the gaming floor, recreation pool, fitness center and enclosed parking.

Throughout Seven Clans Warroad Casino, the culture and heritage of the Red Lake community are featured in the architectural detailing of the property. The hotel façade is formed in the image of a basket weave while the stair towers act as light beacons to Lake of the Woods. Extensive use of heavy timber reflects the nature and north woods imagery of Northern Minnesota. A five-story interior atrium area is formed by the main lobby and hotel floor providing a reinforced image of the sky, constellations and nature.

In addition to the casino resort, the property also offers several new amenities including a 75-slip marina, RV park and outdoor performance area.
