Itasca County Family YMCA joined forces with the City of Grand Rapids, Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital and ElderCircle to add much needed services for members of the community by expanding and renovating the facility. These key partners share a commitment to better the community.

The updated facility includes a Free Active Living Center with space for groups to assemble and two conference rooms for meetings and classes; an Adult Day Stay area, a new Youth Center for grades 2-9 free to all youth, a new Wee Care area and onsite Educare, secure access to licensed child care, a new cycling studio, mind/body studio, parking lot expansion and upgrades to the Y’s 32-year-old HVAC and infrastructure. In addition, the ElderCircle offices are located at the Y and Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital built a small on-site clinic. Rather than having community members focus on getting healthy when they’re already sick, the on-site clinic fosters stronger physician-patient relationships in new and engaging ways, changing the way patients receive care.
