The St. Louis County Central Range Transportation Campus is a comprehensive five-building complex designed for the Seventh District’s operational needs. The site features two cold-storage buildings for equipment and trailers, a tempered brine facility, a fabric structure for salt and sand storage, and a primary 100,000-square-foot Transportation Facility. This main precast structure serves as the administrative and maintenance hub, housing staff offices alongside advanced service areas.
The maintenance wing is highly specialized, featuring five double-loaded, drive-through repair bays supported by bridge cranes, a dedicated parts storage area, and safety stations. Additional maintenance infrastructure includes an automatic truck wash, a welding shop, and a tire shop equipped with two more bridge cranes. To prioritize employee well-being, Solatubes are integrated throughout the maintenance areas to provide natural daylighting.
Engineered for high efficiency, the single-level facility utilizes in-floor heating powered by a geothermal field, with a roof structure reinforced to support future photovoltaic panel installation. The administrative suite offers a variety of professional and personal spaces, including private offices, locker rooms, break areas, wellness rooms, and a versatile training center capable of hosting up to 50 people.
