The Bad River Health and Wellness Center was completed in 2011 after performing a needs assessment including a program and master plan. DSGW designed the center in 2011 with the opportunity for growth. Once again we partnered with Bad River on a 50,716 SF expansion to address the community need for physical, mental, and spiritual health.

The expansion included an aquatic center with a 6 lane pool that has a splash pad, zero entry, sauna, locker rooms, and bleachers. The pool is designed deep enough to allow for educational opportunities for canoeing safety and techniques.

Additional spaces in the expansion contain a 9,668 SF multipurpose space for physical activities, a 4,325 SF fitness center with lower level locker rooms that double as shelter areas during inclement weather, a small work out room for physical therapy services, and a walking track that flows through the fitness center and along an elevated space above the multipurpose space.

Within the clinic, the dental suite, physical therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic, behavioral health, community health, laboratory, optical, and pharmacy are all receiving expanded spaces. Additionally 4 exam rooms were added to accommodate for more patients.

To save on time and money, the aquatic center and multipurpose space utilized precast construction.
