Hawk Estates is the first of four proposed apartment buildings by the North Segment Community Development Corporation in New Town, North Dakota. It is being built in hopes that it appeals to different generations, aiming at not only college students and casino workers, but elderly residents as well. Native Americans believe that multi-generational interaction is very important as it keeps their culture alive.
The 30-unit apartment complex will have the ability to add six additional units if needed. It has high-end heating and cooling units in each apartment to help prevent mold, which is common in the area due to climate. There is also a community room with an attached deck on the second floor and a fitness room for residents.
