Many rural areas are underserved for primary care. DSGW designed the clinic and urgency center to meet this need in a small town one hour north of Minneapolis. The newly designed primary care clinic and urgency center are part of a critical access hospital system.
The clinic includes 18 exam rooms, a lab, imaging service and a physical therapy center. It is a new model for a full-service clinic, which was designed and built in seven months. The expansion of the new urgency center was built in five months. A collaborative team process was developed, resulting in the schedule and budget matching without any compromise in the design.
