The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Indians partnered with DSGW to develop a destination spa for the Grand Casino Hinckley property. Grand Harmony Spa is a combination of remodeled and new space that offers guests an additional opportunity to enjoy the amenities the Casino offers. While designing the spa, the theme for the entire property – Bringing the Outside In - was a strong influence.
There are many design elements that represent the outdoors throughout the interior of the facility, but the nature-inspired indulgences inside the Grand Harmony Spa perhaps best reflect the beauty of the nature. The spa includes a soothing aromatherapy steam baths as well as a whirlpool, and private massage rooms.
Selecting materials for the spa was a crucial component. The entire design team focused its efforts on finding and using locally produced natural resources. Many materials indigenous to the area were used, such as: wood, stonework and sandstone taken from a quarry north of the property. These elements add texture, beauty and a touch of luxury.
